Drinking While Pregnant

I have been pregnant twice and have two awesome kids. While I was pregnant I knew of and heard people talking about drinking during pregnancy. Their reasoning with drinking was that just one drink here or there wouldn't be a big deal. I just couldn't imagine drinking and thinking that I could justify it. I thought that maybe these people hadn't heard all the talk about FAS but they were educated people.

Perhaps it is a teacher's perspective, but just teaching one child with FAS will act as your incentive to stop drink while pregnant. They say one drink can be enough to be harmful . . . and yes, I often wonder who "they" are, but scare tactic or not, this is one "pregnancy DON'T" that I take to heart.

Smoking while pregnant? . . . I'll be frank and honest . . . yes, I will judge you!

opps . . . that last comment was actually posted by Shannon. I'm on a different computer and it automatically did that.

Yes Shannon I feel the same way. I am a teacher too and well have see many kids with special needs. I have worked very closely with them also. I find that whatever I can to to help my child not have any chance of developing these special needs because of something I did then why not. I know that most times it is nothing that we can do but if you could have why not protect your child.
